Blank cotton bags are sold in packs of 100, 500 and 1,000. Custom printed bags also start at 100 pieces. For printing, the minimum is not a policy choice — it is the screen. Screen printing needs a mesh screen burned for every colour in your artwork, and that setup costs the same whether it prints twenty bags or two thousand.

Why 100 pieces for printing
A custom order stacks two costs that behave completely differently. The bags scale linearly — two hundred cost roughly twice what a hundred cost. The setup does not scale at all: burning the screen, mixing ink to your colour and registering the press takes the same work either way.
Below roughly a hundred bags, that fixed setup is worth more than the order itself. Above it, the setup spreads thin and the per-bag price falls steeply between 100 and 1,000, then flattens out as you move toward paying mostly for cotton.
Where the price steps down
Price breaks are steps, not a slope. The meaningful thresholds are 500, 1,000, 2,500 and 5,000 units. If your requirement lands just under one — 460 bags, say, or 900 — ask what the next step costs before you commit. The totals are frequently close enough that the extra bags are nearly free, and cotton bags do not expire.
Does the minimum apply per size?
No. The 100-piece minimum applies to the order, not to each size, as long as the artwork stays the same. You can split a hundred bags across a 4x6, an 8x10 and a 12x16 in a single run. What does trigger a second setup is different artwork per size, and we price that openly rather than burying it.
The same minimum applies across the custom range — printed drawstring bags, cinch bags and promotional bags — because the screen setup is identical whatever style it prints onto. Larger styles use more fabric per unit, so the per-bag price is higher, but the minimum quantity does not move.
If you need fewer than 100 branded bags
- Buy a blank pack and decorate what you need. Blank cotton drawstring bags come in packs from 100. Add a stamp, an iron-on transfer or a local print shop to the ones you need. Under about fifty branded bags this is nearly always cheapest.
- Order 100 anyway. The gap between what fifty printed bags would cost and what a hundred cost is usually small, because the setup is charged either way.
- Cut colours, not quantity. Going from three colours to one removes two screen setups and two press passes — a far bigger saving on a small run than dropping from 150 bags to 120.
