What your logo looks like on cotton

Screen printing is the most durable and most economical way to put a logo on a cotton bag in volume. Ink is pushed through a mesh screen directly into the weave, so the print survives washing and does not peel the way a heat transfer eventually does. One- and two-colour logos give the cleanest result and the lowest unit cost, because each colour needs its own screen.

• 1 colour — the standard. Best price per bag, sharpest edges, ideal for a wordmark or a single-colour logo.
• 2 to 3 colours — spot colours printed in sequence. Good for most brand marks with a limited palette.
• Full colour — for photographic artwork or gradients. Priced per job, so tell us the quantity first.
• Embroidery — a raised, premium finish that suits heavier canvas and corporate gifting rather than lightweight promotional runs.

Send artwork as vector (AI, EPS or PDF) wherever possible. Vector art can be scaled to any bag size without softening. If all you have is a PNG or JPG, send the largest version you own and we will tell you honestly whether it will hold up at print size.

How big can the logo be?

The printable area is governed by the flat panel of the bag, not its full dimensions. As a working guide, allow roughly one inch of clearance either side of the bag width, and stop about two inches below the drawstring channel so the print is not distorted when the bag is cinched. On a 12 x 16 inch bag that leaves a generous panel of roughly 10 x 12 inches. We confirm the exact imprint area for your chosen size on the digital proof, before anything is printed.

Choosing a size

Pick the size from what goes inside the bag, then check the print fits. Small pouches from 2x3 to 5x7 inches suit jewellery, samples and favours. Mid sizes from 6x8 to 10x12 inches cover retail packaging, coffee, nuts and cosmetics. From 12x16 inches upward you are into shoe bags, gym bags and drawstring backpacks, which is also where a logo reads best from across a room.
