Custom printed cotton packaging bags are branded muslin or canvas drawstring bags made to the size of the product going inside them, so the bag itself becomes the packaging a customer keeps. BAGSGeek prints your logo on 145 GSM natural woven cotton in our own factory, from a minimum of 100 pieces, in any size from 2x3 to 24x34 inches.
Price is quoted rather than listed because packaging is never one size. A 4x6 muslin bag for a soap bar and a 12x16 canvas bag for a coffee subscription are different jobs with different unit costs. Send the product dimensions, the quantity and your artwork, and we come back with factory-direct pricing, usually within one working day.
Why cotton works as retail packaging
Cotton does three things a poly mailer or a printed carton cannot. It breathes, which matters for anything that can sweat or go stale — bread, coffee, cured meat, produce, bulbs. It survives, so the customer reuses it instead of binning it, and your logo keeps circulating long after the sale. And it feels like it cost something, which raises the perceived value of what is inside without changing the product.
It also removes a plastic component from your packaging entirely, which is increasingly the difference between winning and losing a wholesale listing.
Muslin or canvas: matching fabric to product
- Muslin (lightweight, open weave) — soft, breathable and the most economical. Right for favours, soaps, jewellery, herbs, tea, small cosmetics and anything light that benefits from airflow.
- Standard cotton (145 GSM) — the everyday choice. Opaque enough to hide the contents, strong enough for coffee, nuts, grains, hardware and retail bundles.
- Canvas (heavier weight) — a tight, structured weave that holds its shape and carries weight. Right for flour, rice, tools, premium gifting and anything that needs to stand up on a shelf.
Sizing packaging to the product
Measure the product at its widest point and add about an inch either side, then add two to three inches of height above it so the drawstring can close cleanly without straining the seam. A bag that is too tight looks cheap and splits; a bag that is too big looks empty on the shelf. If you send us the product dimensions we will recommend a bag size, and we can produce a custom size where nothing standard fits.
Printing and finishing
Screen printing is standard: durable, washable and the lowest unit cost at volume, with each spot colour adding a screen. One- and two-colour logos give the cleanest result. Full colour is available for photographic artwork. Send vector artwork (AI, EPS or PDF) where possible, and we confirm the exact imprint area for your bag size on a free digital proof before anything goes on press.

Questions buyers ask
What size packaging bag do I need for my product?
Measure the product at its widest point, add roughly one inch either side for the width, then add two to three inches above it for height so the drawstring closes without straining the seam. Send us the product dimensions in your quote request and we will recommend a size, or produce a custom one if nothing standard fits.
Is cotton safe for packaging food?
Our cotton is GOTS certified organic and AZO-free, with no azo dyes or pesticide residues, which is why it is used for coffee, bread, flour, nuts and cured meats. Cotton is breathable rather than airtight, so it is the right choice for products that need airflow and the wrong choice for anything requiring a moisture or oxygen barrier — those normally use a cotton outer over a sealed inner.
Can I get a different bag size for each product in my range?
Yes. Sizes can be mixed within one order, and the minimum of 100 pieces applies to the order rather than to each individual size, provided the artwork stays the same. Different artwork per size means a separate screen setup, which we will price transparently in the quote.
What is the minimum order?
100 pieces for a printed order. Blank cotton bags in standard sizes are held in stock, carry a listed price and ship in 24-48 hours, so they do not need a quote.
How long does production take?
5-7 business days after you approve the digital proof, plus transit. The proof usually comes back within one working day of us receiving your artwork.
